SALMON & TROUT ASSOCIATION (LINCOLNSHIRE BRANCH)
We are excited to once again welcome the Salmon and Trout Association to Revesby.
They promise to provide a host of entertainment, from their static display to the two
main ring demonstrations. The static display will feature vintage fishing tackle and
fly tying demonstrations, amongst other items. Alongside this display, they will be
running a casting competition with prizes and trophies for the best adult and junior.
In addition there will be casting demonstrations throughout the day.
Contact Barry Grantham on 01522 878317 for further details.
LINCOLNSHIRE BDS MUSICAL DISPLAY
The Lincolnshire branch of the British Driving Society headed up by David Faulkner,
are warmly welcomed into our main ring this year for a driving display to music.
There can be anything from 4 to 6 carriages in the display which is both informative
and entertaining for the public. The team entertain by driving movements together
to popular music followed by information to the audience on each individual driver,
pony and carriage. David and his team work to promote the hobby of carriage
driving to a wider audience and to show the audiences that horses and ponies of all
differing sizes and shapes can come together to put on the remarkable display that
they now perform. From a Shire to a Shetland, everyone is welcome to participate
and become members of the national body, The British Driving Society. The
audiences are encouraged to come to speak to David or any member of the team to
find out more.
THOMAS LONGTON SHEEPDOGS
Thomas has been giving Sheepdog displays/demonstrations with either sheep or
geese and/or ducks all over the British Isles for over 20 years at large country shows
or small village fetes. They are both informative and amusing, especially when the
ducks are misbehaving.
Thomas is an authority on the subject and has written a book on ‘Training the Sheep
Dog’. His gentle coaching soon gets the respect of the dogs, however unfamiliar they
are to him; he is renowned for his training of champion trial dogs.
WARWICK GIRLS MARCHING BAND
The Warwick Girls Marching Band was formed in 1979. Since then they’ve played
all over the world including Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and the USA.
They’ve performed at Wembley Arena, Hampden Park, the Royal Albert Hall and
the National Indoor Arena as well as the Lord Mayor of London’s parade, the
annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Birmingham and carnivals all across the
country, including good old Warwick.
The girls range between the ages of 8 and 25 and play popular tunes from memory
on brass, woodwind and percussion instruments while creating complex patterns
and shapes on a football pitch-sized arena.

There is also a section known as the ‘Colourguard’ where the girls spin flags and
other equipment at the same time as performing dance moves. Banding is truly one
of the most demanding of the performing arts, challenging both mentally and
physically. They’re sure to be a fantastic attraction at this year’s show.
J.C. BALLS & SONS DIGGER DANCE
The J.C. Balls & Sons Digger Dance is an exciting team driven entertainment show
exhibiting the flexibility and talent of JCB drivers.
The team now consists of several members (men and women!) driving various
machinery and working behind the scenes to make this a spectacular show not to be
missed. Most amazing, is the fact that the members and the machines are also out
doing normal work that JCB’s do every other day of the week!
The team have been together since 2004, when founder, Kevin Balls, decided to give
the digger dancing a go with his machines and some of the men who work for
J.C. Balls & Sons. They first performed at Cromford Steam Rally that year and were
such a roaring success that they haven’t looked back since!
The spectacular Digger Dance team follow a precisely choreographed routine to
music, containing several daring manoeuvres and even balancing the machines on
their sides.

We have in excess of 250 tradestands from around the country, offering a range of goods from homewares to garden design and furniture, crafts and leather goods to quality artwork. There will be a range of clothing, local produce and also animal accessories along with various exhibitions and demonstrations around the showground.
We once more hosted a variety of Equestrian Life qualifiers in a range of horse classes. Following the successful introduction of competitive dressage last year, we again held a number of classes throughout the morning. There was also show jumping and gymkhana games . Last year the 'in-hand' showing classes took place in a dedicated 'in-hand' ring, close to all the other horse classes. We werea little cramped last year but aim to rectify this for 2011 Let's not forget the fancy dress that as usual took place in the main ring and what a marvellous turnout we had! One of the least enviable tasks on the day is being offered the job as judge!
All the old favourites for our canine friends are back . This of course will include the exemption dog show, novelty classes, dog agility, gun dog scurry and not forgetting the terrier racing which will take place in the main ring as usual.
We will be very grateful to the Masters of the South Wold Foxhounds and the East Lincs Bassett Hounds for once again allowing their packs to parade in the main ring.
